These shoes are designed to be worn by babies and infants up to the age of 2 years. They are made from kid leather, yet despite being made from extremely soft kid leather, they are remarkably durable.
Babies’ feet contain cartilage, which does not convert into bone until later years. When a child is small it cannot feel pressure against its toes, as it is soft cartilage, not bone. Many parents are keen to have children in outdoor shoes as soon as possible, and this should be avoided. Keeping children in soft shoes for as long as possible limits pressure on toes, and the front part of the foot, therefore minimalising damage to the foot, which could affect the development and fitting of the foot in later years.

Not only do these shoes provide a comfortable and less expensive alternative to outdoor shoes, they also ensure that socks stay on! It is so frustrating to find that a sock has fallen off, when your out and about. Not only do these shoes keep socks on, they are extremely difficult for children to pull off!
